The rich experience the young artist gained in the exchange with his artist colleagues became an evident part of his artistic creation. Colors were the main means of creation, however, without becoming too dominant. Cuno Amiet remained true to himself and his representational painting style. He did not open himself much towards any kind of Formalism. "On the Oschwand, in a small village and surrounded by mountain farmers, he painted with a focus on the great ideas of European painting." (quote after: Gotthard Jedlicka, Amiet, Bern 1948, p. 29)
