Schilling 78 a. One of 3 known casts made during the artist's lifetime. Ca. 3 x 10.5 x 4.1 cm (1.1 x 4.1 x 1.6 in).
The bronze is based on the "Liegende Kuh" (Reclined Cow) that the artist executed in pockwood on the island of Hiddensee in summer 1932. Its dimensions and whereabouts are unknown (cf. Schilling 78). [JS].
Excellent cast with unusually fine patina.
Very rare. Only one other copy of this bronze has been offered on the international auction market before (source: www. artnet.de)
