$ 7,700 - 9,900

Lot description
Faltschachtelobjekt. 1970s.
Mixed media, dispersion paint, silk paper, cardboard mounted in object box.
Signed and inscribed "52 Frühjahr" on verso of the object box. Object box: 46 x 86 x 3.8 cm (18.1 x 33.8 x 1.4 in).
As of the early 1950s the artist began to combine soft tissue with folded cardboard. Rough and soft elements merge while the color application expands their perception. Once attained, Herbert Zangs continued to develop his material compositions, so that this work was presumably made in the 1970s while the artist decided to date it back to 1952.

With a photo expertise from Frau Emmy de Martelaere, Paris, dated March 27, 2019. The work is registered at the Archive Herbert Zangs with the number 2605.

PROVENANCE: Swiss art trade.
