The bronze head is a portrait of Dietrich Wildung, longtime director of the Egyptian Museum in Berlin, which Johannes Grützke also made. A cast of this work is in possession of the 'Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlung'. The great dynamic and diversity of Grützke's creation can be felt on two levels in this work, on the one hand in painting and in sculpting on the other. [EH].
