Paysage rocheux sombre. 1954.
Gouache and monotype.
Loreau IV 107. Signed and dated in lower left, verso signed, dated "Janvier 54", titled and with a hand-written inscription "JD/84" as well as "St 3019". On black wove paper. 35.5 x 50 cm (13.9 x 19.6 in) , the full sheet. [CH].

Early sheet with the typical haptic-pastose quality.
In 1954, the year this work was made, Dubuffet had reached the first creative peak of his career, as a retrospective at Cercle Volnay in Paris shows.
The work is executed in a fine coloring and is in a very good condition

PROVENANCE: Private collection Lower Saxony.
