• Stephan Balkenhol is the leading spirit behind the revival of figurative sculpture in the early 1980s.
• His work is characterized by coarsely hewn and brightly painted wooden sculptures and reliefs.
• The Lehmbruck Museum Duisburg currently shows a comprehensive exhibition of the artist's work from October 22, 2020 to February 28, 2021.
