Signed in upper right. 54.5 x 51 cm (21.4 x 20 in).
The stretcher was presumably reused by the artist, here inscribed "Schiffe Pechstein".
• The person depicted is Dora Steinbart (1871-1979), daughter of the collector Carl Steinbart.
• In 1918 Pechstein could hardly meet the demand from private collectors.
• Pechstein is the "Brücke" artist who was the earliest to gain broad general recognition
