Street Scene (Feeding Swans). 1908.
Pen and ink and Colored crayon drawings.
On thin laid paper. 17.3 x 25.8 cm (6.8 x 10.1 in), size of sheet. [CH].

• Subtle, spontaneous-atmospheric drawings by the great expressionist and later Bauhaus artist.
• In this work Feininger presumbaly sketched two London or Paris street scenes. In September 1908 Julia and Lyonel Feininger got married in London, in October they spent several weeks in Paris
.

Achim Moeller, director of the Lyonel Feininger Project LLC, New York/Berlin, confirmed this work's authenticity. It is registered at the Lyonel Feininger Project with the number 1662-08-18-20.

PROVENANCE: Collection Alois Jakob Schardt, Halle/Berlin/Los Angeles (as present from the artist).
