Oil on canvas.

• Wonderful work from the small but high-quality oeuvre of the rediscovered Rhenish Expressionist Hanns Bolz.
• Bolz's paintings were exhibited at the leading avant-garde galleries of Alfred Flechtheim in Düsseldorf and Hans Goltz in Munich, and were also shown at Herwarth Walden's legendary "Erster Deutscher Herbst Salon" (1913) in Berlin.
• As the artist had destroyed some of his works before his early death and had also stipulated the destruction of other works in his will, only a few works have survived.
• To date only 14 further paintings by the artist have been offered on the international auction market (www.artnet.de).

"Bolz (with Grete Tarrasch) and Thesing left for Paris. The 'Komet' is all deserted and I have the rewarding task to protect the staff's interests in meetings with the editors."
