Artist statement:
My working title "Verschmelzen" (Merging) hints at me merging the culture that I bring with me with European culture. In doing so, it is important for me as an artist to deal as intensively as possible with the society I came to as a guest and which is becoming more and more diverse, also in terms of the similarities with my own culture that I discover the more I get to know about it.
At the same time, nothing seems to be easy to depict anymore, because of the excess of new things I've developed a new language in my pictures. The figures and things emerge, appear and I withdraw them from the view again. Some can only be guessed at. Just as it is the case with the issues that everyone of us is concerned with, for example the destruction of nature.
I also want to examine how things are perceived. Today, in the digital age, can one still speak of culturally different visual languages, such as Asian and European visual languages?
Does this fusion already exist?
