• An evening mood suffused with mysticism by the Italian painter and photographer.
• His works from 1995 onwards were inspired by the landscapes in the Gulf of Policastro and the Po Valley near Monviso.
• Exemplary work for a tendency towards simplification and reduction in Italian painting, a development to which the Museum of Modern Art in New York dedicated an extra exhibition in 1999 (“Minimalia: An Italian Vision in 20th Century Art”).
• Other works by the artist are in international museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna, and the Klassik Stiftung, Weimar.
• Three very similar landscapes from the 1990s fetched the highest prices for his works on the international auction market (source: artprice.com)
.

This painting is subject to a pending inquiry with the Archivio Salvo, Turin.

PROVENANCE: Buchmann Galerie, Cologne (today Berlin).
