Plesch 106. - Dunthorne 69. - Sehr seltenes, nahezu komplettes Exemplar von Bulliards prachtvoll illustrierter 'Flora Parisiensis', mit der meist fehlenden Einleitung. "This work is usually found incomplete, the sixth volume and introduction being particularly rare (the latter lacking in the Bibliothèque Nationale copy)" (De Belder). Vorlieg. Exemplar mit den genannten 32 S. 'Introduction', jedoch ohne die 52 S. 'Table Françoise, Errata ...' sowie die 16 S. 'Nouvelle table'. Exemplare mit diesen fehlenden Vorstücken sind in der Tat kaum auffindbar.
"Jean Baptiste François Bulliard (1752-1793), called Pierre Bulliard, was another picturesque outsider whose works represented the Linnaean tradition in Paris. Bulliard was a descriptive naturalist, little given to theoretical or methodological meditations, but an industrious and skilled draftsman and floristic botanist" (Stafleu/C.). - Die reizenden, jew. mit Erläuterungsbl. versehenen Kupfertafeln in frischem Kolorit. - Rücken minim. berieben und 1 RSch. mit kl. Fehlstelle, sonst wohlerhaltenes, innen sauberes Exemplar.6 vols. Coloured engraved title, one leaf of engraved table, 2 coloured plates in the introduction and 640 coloured plates of flowers. Contemporary mottled calf with lable on spine. 8vo. - Copy with the mostly lacking introduction, but without the 52 pp. 'Table' and the 16 pp. 'Nouveau table'. - Spines negligible rubbed, 1 label little defective spot. In general a fine and fresh copy.
