Richly illustrated nobility album amicorum of the Wolfgang von Honsberg who was from a Saxon family. The entries, most of which originate from his study years at the Jena university from 1575-79, were written by members of various noble families, among them Mansfeld, Starhemberg, Kronstorf, Bernstein, Wolframsdorf, Castell, Woldau, Arnim, Schenk v. Trautenburg, Schönberg, Schleinitz, Breitenbach, zu Gleichen, Plettenberg, Meyendorff, Kötzschau, Boyenburg, Bünau, Kanitz and Leinsheim. The mostly fullpage gouaches show 51 family crests (1 uncoloured) as well as a fullpage jousting scene. - Newly bound in the 19th century and with 24 additional ll. interleaved (together 71 ll.), the original ll partly new remargined. Slightly foxed, ca. 13 ll. with small padded split or mended defect in margin, 1 l. remargined at bottom, 1 l. (without drawing) trimmed halfway and mended. Binding slightly rubbed. All in all fine and splendidly coloured friendship book from the early days of the Jena university.
