Max Schwimmer's "Expressiver Kopf" (Expressive Head) originates from an early period during which the artist was still activein teaching. In this expressive work Schwimmer employs an urging line that defines the motif and a choice of remarkably strong colors, these characteristic features mark the beginning of a stunning lifework.
