Erste Ausgabe des Kompilats verschiedener Entdeckungen und technischer Neuerungen aller Art.

Wichtiges Werkes zur Geschichte der Technik, "contains descriptions of the aerostatic experiments of Guericke and Boyle, perpetual motion machines, diving bell, chronometer, barometer, etc." (Duveen). Eine kollationsgleiche zweite Ausgabe erschien 1687.

EINBAND: Späterer Pergamentband im Stil der Zeit. 21,5 : 18 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit Kupfertitel und 58 Kupfertafeln (st. 59; 18 gefaltet; fehlt ferner das gestochene Porträt und das blattgroße Wappenkupfer). - KOLLATION: 19 (st. 20) Bll., 1044 S., 6 (st. 8) Bll. - ZUSTAND: Das Haupttitelblatt hier in Faksimile ersetzt. Tafeln tlw. etw. stockfleckig, 1 Tafel mit kl. Randausriß. Einbd. etw. berieben.

First edition; a second edition with identical collation and plates was published in 1687. With engr. illustr. title and 58 (of 59, 18 folding) copperplates. Later vellum in 17th cent. style. - Lacking the engr. portrait and the fullpage engr. coat of arms, the print title replaced by a photocopy (dated 1664). Plates partly foxed, 1 plate with marginal defect. Binding somewhat rubbed.
