Nachdruck nach der englischen Folio-Ausgabe im selben Jahr. Der gestochene Titel mit Verlagsangabe Amsterdam, Hemmers & Wolters. - Der französische Kaufmann und Juwelier J. Chardin (1643-1713) gehörte seinerzeit zu den besten Kennern Persiens, das er wie auch Indien zwischen 1665-1679 mehrfach bereiste.
EINBAND: Lederband der Zeit mit Rückenvergoldung. 16 : 10,5 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit gestochenem Porträt, Kupfertitel, 1 gestochenen Vignette, 1 gefalteten Kupferkarte und 15 mehrfach gefalteten Kupfertafeln. - KOLLATION: 10 Bll., 496 S., 4 Bll. - ZUSTAND: Gering gebräunt, Karte und einzelne Tafeln mit kl. Falzrissen, vord. Innengelenk leicht angebrochen. Einband beschabt. unt. Kapital mit kl. Fehlstelle. - PROVENIENZ: Aus der Bibliothek des Diplomaten und Orientalisten Otto Günther von Wesendonk (1885-1933).

Contemp. calf with gilt decoration on spine. - Only slightly tanned, few of the folding plates with tear to fold, front inner hinge slightly going. Binding scraped, tail of spine with small defect. - From the library of diplomat and orientalist Otto Günther von Wesendonk.
