Orig.-Farbstiftzeichnung. Monogrammiert und datiert. 1943. Auf chamoisfarbenen Vélin. Darstellungs- und Blattgröße 25,1 : 35,3 cm.
Idyllische Zeichnung, in der Kokoschka mit schnellem lockeren Strich die friedliche, weite grüne Landschaft der schottischen Lowlands mit weidenden Schafen skizziert.
Die blattgroße Zeichnung entstand in Schottland, wo sich Olda und Oskar in den Jahren 1941 bis 1946 im Spätsommer regelmäßig in dem Dorf Elrig bei Port William aufhielten, um dem Bombardement in London zu entkommen. - Rückseitig in Blei datiert "1944 Elrig No 5" und mit Vermerk "unverkäuflich".
- ZUSTAND: Mit leichten Knitterspuren und 4 kl. Randeinrissen (3 hinterlegt). Verso mit 2 Montierungsresten am oberen Rand. - PROVENIENZ: Aus dem Nachlass des Künstlers. Olda Kokoschka (1915-2004). Privatsammlung Schweiz (2005 von Vorgenannter erhalten).

Idyllic drawing in quick, loose strokes in which Kokoschka sketches the peaceful, wide green landscape of the Scottish Lowlands with grazing sheep. - With slight creases and 4 small marginal tears (3 backed). Verso with 2 traces of mounting at the upper edge. - From the artist's estate. Olda Kokoschka (1915-2004). Private collection Switzerland (received from the aforementioned in 2005).(R)

Buyer's premium, taxation and resale right compensation for Oskar Kokoschka "Landschaft"
This lot can only be purchased subject to regular taxation, artist‘s resale right compensation is due.
Regular taxation:
Hammer prices up to € 200,000: 25 % buyer's premium plus statutory sales tax Hammer prices above € 200,000: for the share up to € 200,000: 25%, for the share above € 200.000: 20% buyer's premium, each plus statutory sales tax
Calculation of artist‘s resale right compensation:
For works by living artists, or by artists who died less than 70 years ago, a artist‘s resale right compensation is levied in accordance with Section 26 UrhG:
4 % of hammer price from 400.00 euros up to 50,000 euros,
another 3 % of the hammer price from 50,000.01 to 200,000 euros,
another 1 % for the part of the sales proceeds from 200,000.01 to 350,000 euros,
another 0.5 % for the part of the sale proceeds from 350,000.01 to 500,000 euros and
another 0.25 % of the hammer price over 500,000 euros.
The maximum total of the resale right fee is EUR 12,500.
The artist‘s resale right compensation is VAT-exempt.
