Berlin, June 24, 2020 (kk) - Ketterer Kunst braves the widely spread return to core competencies owing to the virus. Germany's leading auction house wants to make its contribution by showing the Tina Haase exhibition "Optimize" at its Berlin representation as of September 13.

"Especially in times like this it is a heart matter to me to support the artists as they are the basis of the art market. I am therefore very pleased that we can not only provide a platform for Tina Haase's fantastic works with our exhibition rooms, but also with our digital network that has grown over decades, "says Robert Ketterer, owner of Ketterer Kunst.

Tina Haase's works of art are just as complex as the materials she uses are trivial. The surprising and often humorous perspectives of the contemporary artist analyze the self-optimization of things. They open up a world to the viewer in which everyday objects suddenly take on entirely new levels of meaning.

"What fascinates me most about Tina Hase's work is this double vision, when perception fluctuates between the recognition of an object and the completely new shape it has assumed through the artist's work. Because it is precisely this double existence that questions the seemingly obvious", says Dr. Simone Wiechers, head of the Ketterer Kunst representative office in Berlin and curator of the exhibition.

Indeed, Tina Haase questions seemingly given value concepts by compiling, layering, stacking and compacting. She is a researcher who examines the qualities and properties of objects, deconstructs them, and then creates new compositions and fantastic worlds that are usually not without a certain irony.

The objects she uses lose their original function and combine to form an innovative, aesthetic entity. They become independent and turn into energetic sculptures and installations. With playful ease, the artist creates at times massive, at times delicate and fragile works of art. Despite a humorous first impression, her works often point to a critical examination of mass production and consumption. In this way, the supposedly 'worthless' side of Tina Haase's works becomes an important means of artistic expression.

Tina Haase studied at the art academies in Münster and Düsseldorf. In 1987 she graduated from Fritz Schwegler's master class. After completing her studies in sculpting, her agile exhibiting activities earned her a lot of attention not only in Germany. International success followed, among others, in Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Spain, Austria and the USA. Since 2004 she has been professor of design at the design department of the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld and since 2007 she has held the post for visual arts at the faculty of architecture at the Technical University of Munich. She lives and works in Cologne and Munich.

On occasion of the opening of the exhibition "Tina Haase - Optimize" on September 13th at 11 a. m., the inaugural address by curator Dr. Simone Wiechers of Ketterer Kunst will be followed by a speech delivered by Dr. Marc Wellmann, art director at Haus am Lützowplatz.
