• Works with lasciviously opened female mouths with cherry-red lips are the artist's most sought-after works.
• With the help of an extreme, almost abstract close-up view and a broad, virtuoso application of paint, Cornelius Völker elevates his lip motifs to a separate genre of the portrait.
• Later picture cycles are devoted to other sensitive and erogenous zones, such as “Bauchnabel“(Belly button, 2006) and “Brustwarzen“ (Nipples, 2010).
• The artist had solo exhibitions at, among others, the Villa Stuck in Munich in 2011 (with a lip painting on the exhibition poster) and at the Kunsthalle Münster in 2016.
