Seltenes und prachtvoll illustriertes Werk zu den Wanddekorationen in Pompeji, die im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert entdeckt wurden. Die schönen Lithographien wurden von dem italien. Genre- und Landschaftsmaler Vincenzo Loria (1850-1939) angefertigt. - Vorwort von G. de Petra. Der begleitende Text in französ. und italienisch. - Tlw. etw. stockfl. (Tafeln tlw. im w. R., 5 Taf. stärker), ca. 6 Taf. mit geringen Randeinrissen. Rücken berieben, Schließbänder tlw. entfernt.
Scarce and superbly illustrated work on the mural paintings discovered in Pompei in the 18th and 19th century. With lithogr. title with vignette and 20 chromolithogr. plates. 20th cent. half calf with handwritten title on front cover. - Partly slightly foxed (plates partly in the white margin, 5 plates stronger), ca. 6 plates with small marginal tears. Spine rubbed, thongs partly removed.
