Signed lower right. On wove paper by Blanchet Fres & Kleber (BFK) Rives (with watermark). 35,5 x 26,7 cm (13,9 x 10,5 in), size of sheet.
Nice animal study by the cat lover, who executed this motif in several variations. All of his life Steinlen was around cats, so that there is a certain kinship with them, the artist depicted them in all possible poses and moods. Presumably preliminary drawing for an illustration. [DB].
