Signed and dated ("13" corrected above "14"). One of 11 known copies. On firm Japon. 26 x 22.4 cm (10.2 x 8.8 in). Sheet: 46 x 32,4 cm (17,9 x 12,7 in).

• Expressionist landscape from the Berlin "Brücke" period.
• The motif goes back to the small village of Caputh near Potsdam, where Heckel stayed in the spring of 1913.
• Rare. To date, a maximum of five further prints have been offered on the international auction market (source: artprice.com).
• Further prints of this woodcut can be found in, among others, the collections of the Museum Folkwang, Essen, the Brücke-Museum Berlin, the Staatliche Kunsthalle, Karlsruhe, and the Albertina Vienna.
PROVENANCE: Hermann Gerlinger Collection, Würzburg (with the collector's stamp Lugt 6032).
