Signed lower right. With artist's studio label on stretcher, there titled. 100 x 80 cm (39,3 x 31,4 in).
Pippel focussed entirely on the slightly elevated birch trees in the foreground. He emphasized them through the dark pastose colors, the distant landscape in the back gets its depth effect through the light glazing manner. [DB].
