PROVENIENZ: From the artist's estate.
Good overall impression. Lower edge with a small tear, backed. The margins with isolated minor handling creases. Minor foxmarks, more obvious on the left margin.
Watercolour, gouache and pencil.
Monogrammed and dated lower right. With inscription "26" on the reverse. On Ingres laid paper by Hahnemühle (with watermark). 48 : 62,7 cm (18,8 : 24,6 in), the full sheet. The colour intensive work, painted during one of Stock-Schmilinsky's stays in Nidden, masterly transcribes the wide view over the backwater in its colouring and composition. [NB]
