Second French edition, the first with the "narrations philosophiqes". With 95 text woodcuts and 416 woodcut borders. 18th cent. calf with gilt spine and label. - Lacking the last leaf (colophon). Some waterstaining, first 8 ll. with marginal damage by damp (affecting the borders), ink stain to 2 pp., partly contemp. marginalia and underlinings or crossing out. Spine at the extremities damaged.
