Purrmann depicts a view on the ruins of the Forum Romanum in direction of the Capitol. The columns of the Castor and Pollux Temple are visible in front right, the cupula of the church Santa Luca e Martina is visible in the background. The Purrmann archive registers a comparable pencil drawing (archive no. 4687). [CB].
