The painting 'The Klinglerquartett' from 1917 presumably served as diirect model for this lithography (cf. Marie-Agnes von Puttenkamer, Max Oppenheimer 1885-1954. Leben und malerisches Werk, Vienna/Cologne/Weimar 1999, cat. no. 110, cover illu. and color plate 17). [EH].
