From the important series "Hamburger Brücken", first exhibited at Galerie Commeter in Hamburg in October 1932. [JS].

• The series "Hamburger Brücken" is a kind of key work in Nesch's technically innovative print œuvre, as it was the first time that he experimented with his newly developed metal print technique.
• Hand-colored trial proof in rich colors.
• Extremely rare. To date only two other hand-made prints were offered on the international auction market (source: artprice.com).
• Two copies are museum-owned today: The National Museum, Oslo and The British Museum, London
.

"Nesch's fundamental interest in exploring unconventional ways of utilizing printmaking materials and methods resulted in his developement of the so-called metal print technique. Nevertheless, being the originator of a novel method of fine art printmaking is not the sole reason for Nesch's particular position within twentieth-century graphic art. Equally noteworthy is the expressive nature of his prints, a destinctive quality that in turn derives from the artists gift for exploiting the immanent pictorial potentialities of different materials and methods."
