Nicht umsonst zierte dieses grandiose Künstlerbuch den Umschlag des wichtigen Kataloges zur Ausstellung im New Yorker Grolier Club im Jahr 1993 (The American Livre de Peintre. New York, The Grolier Club 1993. Bearbeitet von E. Phillips, T. Zwicker und R. Rainwater). - "This accordion-folded book, which can be turned page by page or displayed as screen, is based on eight selections from Auden's early poems chosen and arranged by the artist, who also designed every aspect of the book. There are eight sugarlift aquatint plates, one for each color used, with white windows for the text providing a stark contrast to the brushed swirls surrounding them. Donna Stein describes the project in the publisher's prospectus: 'For Tuttle, the abstract expressionist nature of imagery is neither decorative nor supports meaning. It is pure space, a buffer zone for time, the field between the visual and the verbal'." (Phillips/Zwicker)
