• The extremely complex composition has been part of the same private collection for over 40 years.
• Since he took part in documenta I (1955), Winter has been regarded as a leading representative of German Informalism and abstract Post-War Modernism.
• Winter has had exhibitions in the USA since the 1950s and was featured in, among others, two exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
• Works by the artist can be found in renowned museums, including the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich, the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
