"I believe that I have added a new, previously unseen interpretation of Venice to the many that have been created since Canaletto and Turner. At least, that is what the Venetians tell me, and they should know best."
Max Peiffer Watenphul, in: Der Mittag, Düsseldorf, January 31, 1952.
In good condition. The canvas is slightly irregularly cropped. Some threads along the edges are slightly loose. A few small pinholes. Some vertical scratches with small areas of paint loss in the lower part of the image, probably inherent to the work. The hardboard has some scratches, stains, and bumps. Handwritten inscription on the reverse of the hardboard, accompanied by a newspaper article about the artist. The condition report was compiled in daylight with a UV light source and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
