• Consistent provenance: acquired directly from the artist.
• Part of a private collection for three generations.
• Part of the much-discussed exhibition "Kunst für keinen" at Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt am Main in 2022.
• One of the two other versions of this motif has been part of the collection of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin since 1952 (c. 1940, Kupferstichkabinett).
• With this depiction, Hofer transferred the traditional art-historical motif and biblical subject of "Christ and the Samaritan Woman" into his very own contemporary visual language
.
