Erste Ausgabe des monumentalen Ansichtenwerkes mit zahlreichen Genre- und historischen Szenen, Städteansichten und Schlachtplänen.
Exemplar der "einfachen" Ausgabe in etwas kleinerem Format und mit den schönen Kupfern in Schwarzweiß. - Der dritte Band erschien 1822 unter dem Titel Precis historique de la guerre entre la France et l'Autriche en 1809 und wird von Nebehay/Wagner als eigenständiges Werk beschrieben (Nr. 349).
EINBAND: Halbmaroquinbände der Zeit mit etw. Rückenvergoldung und farbigem Rückenschild. 60 : 44 cm (2 Bände) und 52 : 38 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 2 gestochenen Titelvignetten, 3 doppelblattgroßen Kupferkarten, 79 gestochenen Tafen mit 121 Darstellungen und 18 Textkupfern. - KOLLATION: 2 Bll., IV S., 220 S., 1 Bl.; 2 Bll., IV S., 106 S. - ZUSTAND: In den breiten Rändern leicht stockfleckig, vereinzelt stärker, Papierränder gebräunt. Einbände etw. fleckig, Kanten berieben und bestoßen, Kapitale mit kl. Defekten. Innen noch schönes breitrandiges Exemplar.

Vol. I and II of the first edition of the monumental work, at the same time uncolored copy of the normal edition on slightly smaller paper, but with still wide margins. Volume III was published with a different title in 1822 and is partly treated as a separate work by some bibliographies. With 2 engr. title vignettes, 3 doublepage engr. maps, 79 engr. plates with 121 maps, plans and views and 18 text engravings. Contemp. half morocco with some gilt decoration and label on spine. - Slightly foxed, occasionally stronger affected, paper edges tanned. Bindings stained, edges rubbed and bumped, heads of spine with small defects. Overall good copy with the beautiful plates on wide-margined paper.
