Inscribed "Franz Stuck" in center of base. Verso on side of base with the foundry mark "Guss v. C. Leyrer München". Numbered "11" in red below the plinth. Overall height: 65 cm (25.5 in). Diameter of plinth: 28,5 cm (11,2 in).
Early cast of the figure from 1890. The very first cast of this bronze was shown in 1892.
PROVENANCE: Private collection Kreuth am Tegernsee.
Private collection Northern Germany (obtained as present from aforementioned in the early 1930s, ever since family-owned).
