Bronze with brown patina With name, number 63/65, title and foundry mark "Schmäke Düsseldorf" on base. 39 x 15 x 6,5 cm (15,3 x 5,9 x 2,5 in) Jörg Immendorf made the bronze "Für dunkle Tage" [For Dark Days] during a period of deep depression in 1968. To comfort himslef he created a flower with a caterpillar on its way up to the blossom. The caterpillar in its pre-stage to become a butterfly is a symbol of hope and transition to Immendorff.
