Signed lower left. 82 : 130 cm (32,2 : 51,1 in). The motif of the sea in moonlight with only one steamer passing by in a distance is often depicted by Schmidt-Hamburg, however, this painting is dominated by the large sailing ship in the foreground. [UB]
