Die seltene Reihe besticht vor allem durch ihre hübschen und sorgfältig ausgeführten Kostümtafeln. Sie umfaßt Reisen um die Welt (Bd. 1-21), nach Afrika (Bd. 22-30), Asien (Bd. 31-37), Amerika (Bd. 38-42), Ozeanien (Bd. 43) und Europa (Bd. 44-46), durchgeführt von Magellan, Dampier, Bougainville, Cook, La Perouse, Coxe, Choiseul-Gouffier usw.
EINBAND: Halblederbände d. Zt. mit etw. Rückenvergoldung (2 später im gleichen Stil nachgebunden). 21,5 : 13 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 83 kolorierten gestochenen Tafeln (st. 90). - ZUSTAND: Ohne den oft fehlenden Atlasband. - Tls. leicht stockfl. und gebräunt. Kanten etw. berieben. Insgesamt schönes Exemplar.

Contemp. half calf with gilt spine (2 later rebound in the same style). 21.5 : 13 cm. - Without the often missing atlas volume. - Partly slightly foxed and browned. Edges slightly rubbed. Overall, a fine copy.
